Choose a home with a written sky survey if you will work from that house. Use the words Starlink-ready only when you can see the mount and the cable path. A line in the listing, on its own, is not a reason to pay more.

Diaspora buyers already weigh the link the way they weigh a borehole. An inverter is the box that turns battery power into wall plug power, and a clear sky now sits beside it. A verified install in Lagos or Abuja is the proof. A sticker is not.

    Who might pay more?

People on a foreign salary, and families moving home who still work online. Short lets in Victoria Island and Maitama. A country director who needs the house online for work.

Not every buyer will pay extra. The one who does is the buyer who tips a slow sale.

    What should a landlord do?

Put the pipe and the sky report in before the facade is finished. A later drill costs more. Put the first activation in the handover pack.

For a rental, write down who pays the monthly bill. A silent guess causes a fight when the bill moves.

How do you show it in a price?

Agents do not yet have one standard add-on for a satellite-ready home. Fibre, power, and security still mix into the price. Put photos of the mount in the file a buyer can check.

An obstruction is something in the way of the sky. A home with no UPS is only half a claim. A UPS is a small battery box that keeps a plug alive for a few minutes.

What can cap the extra value?

Some estates ban a dish people can see. A neighbour can build into the sky six months after you buy. The monthly bill can move with the dollar, and that hurts a tight budget.

Do not call it the end of fibre when a phone mast works well indoors. Failover means a second path that takes over when the first drops. That spare path is the real claim, once fibre arrives.

    What is the later picture?

A new home in Lagos or Abuja may be expected to have fibre and a satellite spare, the way a home is expected to have an inverter. Rural land with a clear sky may interest someone who works online. They are buying a stable link, not only floor space.

Developer-scale pipes are in the Starlink estates article.
